BI Governor Perry Warjiyo stated that credit growth was higher than in 2021, which only increased by 5.24 percent. He explained that the increase in credit last year occurred evenly across all sectors of the economy and types of credit.
"Especially investment credit and working capital. The intermediation recovery also occurred in Islamic banks, with financing growing even higher by 20.1 percent on an annual basis in December 2022. Higher than the previous year which increased by 6.6 percent," said Perry.
Perry added that credit growth also continues in the micro, small and medium credit business sector. He stated that people's business credit (KUR) grew by 29.6 percent.

The improvement in bank intermediation is supported by the content of credit offers in line with adequate liquidity, low lending rates, and increased risk appetite," said Perry.
Meanwhile, in terms of credit demand, he said it was still high in line with the increasing demand from the household and corporate segments which continued to improve.
He ensured that BI would continue accommodative policies, especially to sectors that have not recovered, MSMEs, KUR, and green financing in the context of national economic recovery.
"With this development, in line with the close synergy between the financial sector authorities and the business world. Then credit in 2023 will be in the range of 10 percent -12 percent on an annual basis," concluded Perry.
