IDXChannel - The government officially lifted the policy of enforcing restrictions on community activities (PPKM) at the end of 2022.
Entering this transition period, The President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi) asked the relevant officials to remain vigilant and cautious in taking policies to maintain the stability of the Indonesian economy.
This was conveyed by President Jokowi at the National Coordination Meeting for the Transition to Handling COVID-19 and National Economic Recovery (PCPEN) in 2023, Thursday (26/01/2023), at AA Maramis Building, Central Jakarta.
"After we revoke PPKM at the end of 2022, this period is a transition period and we still have to be vigilant, careful in deciding policies, especially the economy which we are currently in a very good position," said the President.
The President said that in the midst of efforts to deal with the pandemic in 2022, Indonesia was able to maintain national economic growth.
"The third quarter is at 5.72 and year on year in 2022, as earlier, Mr. Menko Airlangga said 5.3 percent, if that is achieved a very good achievement that we can achieve," he said.
On that occasion, the President also expressed his appreciation to all parties who worked together for three years in efforts to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic and economic recovery from the central level to the village level.
"I would like to thank all of you and all ranks from the central level to the village level, who have worked hard for three years in dealing with the pandemic and overcoming our economy. A very tough challenge, a very very tough problem that we faced at that time, and there was no standard, no standards, because indeed we all have no experience in dealing with this pandemic," he said.
