IDXChannel - The latest Consumer Survey conducted by Bank Indonesia (BI) in September 2023 indicates that consumer confidence in economic conditions remains solid.
It is reflected by a Consumer Confidence Index (CCI) maintained in the optimistic zone (>100) with a reading of 121.7.
Consumer confidence was maintained in September 2023 on the back of an optimistic Current Economic Condition Index (CECI) and Consumer Expectation Index (CEI).
"CECI and CEI in September 2023 were recorded at 112.2 and 131.3, respectively," said Executive Director of the BI Communication Department, Erwin Haryono, in Jakarta on Monday (9/10/2023).
The CECI index was supported by optimism in all component indexes, particularly the Current Income Index. Meanwhile, the CEI remained solid, primarily in terms of the Income Expectation Index.
"The purchase of durable goods index was recorded at 109.3, down 2.3 points from August 2023," Erwin said.
"Meanwhile, job availability expectation index and business activity expectation index were recorded at 129.6 and 129.0 respectively in September 2023, lower than 132.5 and 137.4 in August 2023," Erwin concluded. (WHY)
