IDXChannel – The National Research and Innovation Agency or BRIN says the development of local food needs to be increased to anticipate crisis. For this reason, policies are needed to increase production and ease of market access for local food commodities. 

To anticipate a food crisis, food security is vital for maintaining food sovereignty and self sufficiency. One way to achieve food security is to increase local food production. 

“Strengthen research and technology activities so that together with the government, the private sector, universities, industry, NGOs and the community strengthen the direction of development towards agricultural development. Diversification and development of local food that pays attention to food originating from the region, optimizing better productive lands, and innovating in the field of sustainable food and agriculture,” Brin said.
