President Joko Widodo decides to ban the export of bauxite ore from June 2023.

IDXChannel - President Joko Widodo decides to ban the export of bauxite ore from June 2023. The President ensured this ban on the export of bauxite ore to increase the creation of new jobs, and increase foreign exchange receipts.

"Starting June 2023, the government will impose a ban on the export of bauxite seeds and encourage the bauxite processing and refining industry in the country," explained President Jokowi, at the State Palace, Wednesday (21/12/2022).

In fact, the ban on bauxite exports abroad in order for Indonesia to get added value from export products. Therefore, Jokowi emphasized, so that domestic industries can develop bauxite downstreaming.
