IDXChannel - The government through the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing will conduct trials of a contactless cashless transaction system or multi-lane free flow on five toll roads by the end of this year.

Director General of Highways of the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing Hedy Rahadian said that for the initial stage, his ministry will conduct a trial run on the bali mandara toll road in June.

Later trials will be carried out in a number of locations, starting from the balikpapan samarinda toll road, Jakarta-Cikampek, Jagorawi to the JORR toll road.

This trial will later be carried out to test the system and business processes, starting from the imposition of sanctions if someone passes without paying the toll to the use of MLFF systems which still apply barriers.

"From these cases (trial findings) we will see the problems. So these trials are to test the system and also to examine the risks. Also what kind of mitigation is needed. So that's why we choose those with more controlled risks like Bali,” said the Director General of Highways.
