IDXChannel - The Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur has brought 50 Malaysian entrepreneurs to Nusantara, Indonesia's future capital city.
The site visit was held on 30 April. The delegation was accompanied by the Indonesian Ambassador to Malaysia, Hermono.
"The visit of these Malaysian investor candidates marks the first foreign delegation site visit after the official announcement of the 2024 election results," the Indonesian Embassy said in its media release.
Among the entrepreneurs involved were those from the Malaysia-Indonesia Business Council (MIBC), Kelantan State Economic Development Corporation (PKINK); Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB); Sunway Construction Sdn Bhd; and Kenanga Investment Bank Berhad, who were part of the delegation on this visit.
This visit to Nusantara is part of the ongoing economic diplomacy efforts spearheaded by the Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur since the beginning, particularly in promoting Nusantara.
In mid-November 2022, the Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur initiated a roundtable discussion on Nusantara with the presence of the Head of Nusantara Capital City Authority (OIKN), Bambang Susantono.
Subsequently, at the end of November 2022, the Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur collaborated with the Malaysian Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI) to organize a Townhall Discussion on Nusantara in Kuala Lumpur, featuring the Indonesian Minister of Public Works and Public Housing, Basuki Hadimuljono.
This was followed up during the visit of Malaysian Prime Minister, Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim to Jakarta in January 2023, where 11 Letters of Intent were handed over from the Minister of MITI Malaysia to the Head of OIKN.
The site visit by the 50 Malaysian entrepreneurs, led by the Indonesian Ambassador to Kuala Lumpur, also resulted in several letters of intent. (WHY)
