IDXChannel - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan discussed steps to expand the bilateral trade volume to USD10 billion.

"This year, we are celebrating the 75th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Turkiye and Indonesia," Erdogan said during a joint press conference on Thursday (10/4/2025).

"We discussed the potential steps to expand the trade volume to the target of 10 billion dollars in a balanced manner, based on mutual benefit," he added.

During Prabowo's visit, the two governemnts signed cooperation documents in the fields of culture, disaster and emergency management, and communication.

"We agreed to launch new initiatives concerning our cooperation in areas extending from defense industry and construction to healthcare, energy, and food industry. We reviewed our ongoing projects and new cooperation opportunities, including joint production, in defense industry," Erdogan said

"Social contacts and engagements between Turkiye and Indonesia, two important tourism countries, are expanding as well. We are pleased to see that last year 203 thousand tourists from Indonesia visited our country while nearly 50 thousand tourists from our country visited Indonesia. I believe that these figures will multiply as our national flag carriers increase their flights," he said.
