Jokowi Officially Opens Papua Street Carnival

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) opened and inaugurated Papua Street Carnival which was held at the Papua Governor's Office area in Jayapura City this morning.

"I officially declare the Papua Street Carnival opened and started," Jokowi said in his remarks which was broadcast on YouTube by the Presidential Secretariat on Friday (7/7/2023).

Jokowi believes that young people in Papua will make a big leap.  According to him, this can be seen in the event.

 "Ladies and gentlemen, if you don't believe me, please enter the exhibition site and see the Papuan products," he said.

"It is really a very visible leap," he added. 

 According to Jokowi, the designs of these products are very good. The products are also packaged well.

 "The production of mobile phones and laptop computers is not only carried out in western Indonesia but also in eastern Indonesia, in the land of Papua," said Jokowi.  

"We will also see creative industries in Papua this morning," he added.
