President Jokowi Lauds F1 Powerboat Race in Lake Toba

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has lauded the implementation of the 2023 F-1 Powerboat race in Lake Toba.

IDXChannel - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has lauded the implementation of the 2023 F-1 Powerboat race in Lake Toba area in North Sumatra province. Nevertheless, he believes it still needs a number of improvements.

The race in Indonesia was the first round of the single-seat boat racing competition this year According to the president, the event will encourage economic growth around the area which needs to be balanced with infrastructure improvements.

"We need to improve several parts in the Lake Toba area, including the infrastructure, and the airport terminal.  for the event itself, we must fix many issues. I think it needs time,” he said.

“It is fine if it needs improvements. Everything needs time,” he added.

Jokowi hopes that international events can help promote every region in indonesia, not only domestically but globally. So far, there have been several international events held in different areas in indonesia, such as Motogp and Superbike in mandalika and Formula E in Jakarta.
