Australian Minister to Visit Indonesia to Boost EV Cooperation

Minister for Industry and Science Ed Husic will visit Jakarta to further cooperation and collaboration with Indonesia on battery technologies.

IDXCHannel - Minister for Industry and Science Ed Husic will visit Jakarta to further cooperation and collaboration with Indonesia on battery technologies and electric vehicles (EV).

While in Jakarta, Minister Husic is scheduled to hold a series of bilateral meetings with senior Ministerial counterparts from the Indonesian Government. 

“We are determined as a government to keep building up our relationship with Indonesia," said Minister Husic in a media release on Wednesday (22/11/2023).

Minister Husic’s two-day trip to Jakarta will reaffirm Australia’s strong bilateral relationship with Indonesia, particularly their shared interest in growing the global EV industry. 

Like Australia, Indonesia is focused on developing and diversifying its clean energy supply chains and strengthening bilateral trade and investment links.

“Indonesia shares our drive to grow strong and diverse clean energy supply chains, while building our respective battery manufacturing and critical mineral processing industries," he stated.

“My visit to Jakarta will enable our countries to forge further collaboration in growing the electric vehicle ecosystem, as well as our broader economic interests," he concluded. (WHY)
