IDXChannel - Bank Indonesia (BI) has reported that liquidity in the country, measured by broad money (M2), continues to grow positively.
According to the central bank, the M2 position reached Rp8,350.4 trillion in April 2023, growing 5.5% year on year (yoy).
"The position of M2 in April 2023 was recorded Rp8,350.4 trillion, rising 5.5% (yoy) after growing 6.2% (yoy) in the previous month," said Executive Director of the BI Communication Department Erwin Haryono in Jakarta on Monday (29/5/2023).
M2 developments in the reporting period were primarily driven by narrow money (M1) growth of 3.4% (yoy).
"Disbursed loans in April 2023 grew 8.0% (yoy), after increasing 9.8% the month earlier given the performance of productive and consumptive loans.
"Meanwhile, net claims on central government contracted 25.3% (yoy) in April 2023 after contracting 25,7% (yoy) in March 2023," he concluded. (WHY)
