Indonesia Fair 2023 Daisuki Held in Japan to Promote Ties

IDXChannel - The Indonesian Ministry of Trade, Indonesian Consulate General in Osaka, and ITPC Osaka, in collaboration with AEON Co Ltd, held Indonesia Fair 2023 Daisuki at AEON Mall Itami in Itami City, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan on 22-24 September.

With the tagline "Daisuki", which means "I really like" in Japanese, this event aims to strengthen the Japanese people's love for Indonesia and vice versa. 

The exhibition promoted various Indonesian products that have been officially sold in Japan as well as the promotion of Indonesian culture to the Japanese people, especially in the Western Japan region.

The three-day Indonesian product exhibition was enlivened by Bank Indonesia Tokyo featuring women's bags and accessories that have been curated through the Indonesian Creative Works (KKI) programme; Pertamina Tokyo and PPT Energy Trading; Garuda Indonesia Tokyo; Baliism and Magno featuring cutlery made from bamboo and wooden radios; paper and tissue products by APP Japan and Universal Paper; Oriji products such as Lampung pineapple and banana from Great Giant Food Co, Ltd; Niitaka Co. Ltd with fitbar snack products; Kampung Halal Mart with various Indonesian ready-to-eat food and beverage products that have been officially imported by Japan; coffee products from Amano Coffee; Halal fried chicken and coffee food truck from Bali Coffee; as well as weaving and clothing of the archipelago by designer Dian Oerip.

“Indonesia Fair 2023 Daisuki is an integrated Indonesian economic, trade and cultural promotion programme that is made possible by the synergy and good collaboration between Indonesian Representatives in Japan," said the Indonesian Consul General in Osaka, Diana Sutikno, in a media release on Monday (25/9/2023).

In addition to product exhibitions, Indonesia Fair was also filled with various performances of Indonesian arts and culture performed by Indonesian art centres in Osaka and surrounding areas, namely Manik Kusuma, Hanajoss, Pasir Bintang, Wayan and Ayu, Indonesian Student Union in Osaka Nara, Indonesian Student Union in Kyoto-Shiga, and business actors. During the event, visitors were treated to Balinese dance performances, shadowless puppets, angklung, Indonesian contemporary dance, Sundanese dance, and a fashion show by Dian Oerip. 

"Hopefully, through this activity, the Japanese people can get to know Indonesia better and build a positive perception of Indonesia's superior products, cultural arts and tourism sector so that it can further strengthen relations between the two countries, which will enter their 65th anniversary in 2023," continued Consul General Diana.

During the opening ceremony, the Consul General witnessed the presentation of the Forest Restoration Project - SDGs Together award to APP Japan's customer who is dedicated to SDGs development in Indonesia. Indonesia Fair 2023 at AEON Mall Itami is a continuation of a similar event held at AEON Mall Saitama in May 2023. (WHY)
