BI: Green Investments Create 7 to 10 More Job Opportunities 

Head of Bank Indonesia Representative Office for Central Java Rahmat Dwi Saputra noted that green investment could create new jobs up to 7 to 10 folds.

IDXChannel – Head of Bank Indonesia Representative Office for Central Java Rahmat Dwi Saputra noted that green investment could create new jobs up to 7 to 10 folds more than conventional investments. 

In additional, he also said that green investment is needed to address the climate change crisis that has triggered extreme weather condition, that is estimated to have caused total losses of up to USD5,1 trillion globally in the last two decades. 

"Therefore, green economy is need to realize sustainable economy.  Green economy as a part of transformation to push Indonesia out of middle-income trap before 2045. It is because of the implementation of new, renewable energy, energy efficiency, recycling processes, and other activities regarding environmental responsibility that are more labor intensive than gray or brown investment," Rahmat said.
