The meeting discussed global economic challenges. She emphasized the importance of prosperity and stability in the ASEAN region.
"This is a strategic meeting between ASEAN members plus 3 partner countries, namely Japan, South Korea, China to understand each other," said Sri through her official Instagram account @smindrawati in Incheon, Tuesday evening (2/5/2023).
She said the presence of the three dialogue partners provided very valuable insights. Moreover, this collaboration can support ASEAN to become the Epicentrum of Growth.
"At the opening of AFMGM+3, I said that we are very fortunate because growth in ASEAN remains strong and continues to be an important component of the world’s economic growth. However, we must remain alert to the effects of global challenges, especially inflationary pressures, the energy and food crisis, as well as geopolitical fragmentation," explained Sri.
Therefore, she added, this regional cooperation must be strengthened, to provide benefits for all member countries.
At the meeting, a number of important issues were discussed, starting from the Economic Review and Policy Dialogue (ERPD), the Chiang Mai Initiative Multilateralization (CMIM) and the Future Direction of Regional Financial Arrangements (RFA).
“We come together as neighbors with shared objectives. Our cooperation matters for our regional development, stability, and the wellbeing of our people,” she concluded. (WHY)
