Indonesia Welcomes UN General Assembly's Resolution on Gaza Ceasefire

Indonesia has welcomed the adoption of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly resolution on the Situation in Gaza that calls for immediate ceasefire.

IDXChannel - Indonesia has welcomed the adoption of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly resolution on the Situation in Gaza that calls for immediate ceasefire.

It was introduced by Indonesia in the Emergency Special Session (ESS) on 11 December 2024.

"Indonesia also welcomes the adoption of the UNGA Resolution that condemns the adoption of Israeli Knesset law that will ban UNRWA's operation in East Jerusalem," the Indonesian Foreign Ministry said on X today (12/12/2024).

"A permanent ceasefire is urgently needed in Gaza and the resumed operation of UNRWA will help save Palestinians from suffering," it said.

Indonesia cotinues to urge international community to put pressure on Israel to implement the resolutions without delay.

The implementation of the resolutions are expected to ensure a lasting ceasefire, the continuation of humanitarian assistance, and pave the way towards the realization of the Two-State Solution.  (Wahyu Dwi Anggoro)
