IDXChannel - Indonesia reiterated its support for Palestine at the 19th Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) Ministerial Meeting in Tehran, Iran, on Monday (24/6/2024).
"Consistently, Indonesia calls for an end to the humanitarian conflict in Gaza and supports Palestinian independence through the two-state solution principle," stated Ambassador Adam Mulawarman Tugio, Special Staff for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs, representing the Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs at the event.
The 19th ACD Ministerial Meeting is an in-person meeting hosted by Iran as the Chair of ACD for 2023-2025. The meeting was attended by nearly all ACD member countries, under the theme "Towards an Asia Community through Enhanced ACD."
The spirit of ACD member countries to form an inclusive Asian community also included voicing solidarity towards the humanitarian crisis occurring in Palestine, one of the ACD member countries.
The meeting also ratified ACD's administrative documents as one of Iran's achievements as ACD Chair and agreed on the Tehran Declaration, which among other things, noted ACD's commitment to strengthening cooperation in the fields of connectivity, tourism, sustainable development, and the commitment to support Palestine as a full member of the United Nations.
