IDXChannel - Indonesia has urged the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to stand united in advocating for justice and humanity for Palestine.
This was emphasized by the Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Retno Marsudi, at the15th Session Of The Islamic Summit Conference in Banjul, Gambia on 4-5 May.
"In this difficult situation, the OIC must unite to defend justice and humanity for Palestine," Retno stated in a media briefing after the summit.
Regarding the situation in Palestine, Retno highlighted three main points that the OIC should undertake:
First, unity of focus is crucial. The OIC must continue to focus and unite in assisting Palestine. It should provide humanitarian aid to Gaza and support the work of UNRWA. In this regard, the Minister urged the activation of the previously agreed Islamic Financial Safety Net to assist the Palestinian people.
