Nusantara Authority to Cooperate with Hyundai to Develop Flying Taxis

IDXChannel - Nusantara Capital City Authority (OIKN) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with South Korean automotive giant. They will cooperate to develop flying taxi services in Nusantara.
OIKN Head Bambang Susantono stated that IKN would inspire the development of futuristic cities in Indonesia.
"We are building this capital city until 2045 and we are building a futuristic city," Bambang said in Jakarta on Tuesday (23/5/2023).
"I signed an MOU with Hyundai Corporation to develop flying taxis," he added.
According to Bambang, it is designed to be able to carry four passengers and one pilot. The project is expected to support people's mobility.
"A large drone that can carry 4 passengers and one pilot," he continued.
Besides developing flying taxi services, the Nusantara Authority would also procure unmanned electric buses. This mode of transportation would reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
"In principle, Nusantara is a smart city that is inclusive, green and sustainable," said Bambang.
On this occasion, Bambang also provided an update on the development of IKN. Until now there are at least 200 LOIs that have been pocketed by the Authority.
"In total, there are more than 220 letters of intent from potential domestic and foreign investors," he concluded. (WHY)
