IDXChannel - The Bank Indonesia Board of Governors Meeting (RDG BI) on 23-24 August 2023 decided to maintain the BI 7-Day Reverse Repo Rate (BI7DRR) at 5.75%.
BI also kept the Deposit Facility rate at 5.00% and the Lending Facility rate at 6.50%.
BI Governor Perry Warjiyo said the decision to maintain the BI7DRR at 5.75% was consistent with its monetary policy stance to control inflation within the target range of 3.0 ± 1% in the remainder of 2023 and 2.5 ± 1% in 2024.
"The policy is directed at strengthening the stabilization of rupiah," he said Thursday (24/8/2023).
To stimulate the domestic economy, he said, stronger macroprudential liquidity incentives are needed to encourage credit growth in downstream, housing, tourism as well as inclusive and green financing sectors. Moreover, the acceleration of the payment system digitalization continues to be encouraged to expand digital economy and financial inclusion.
