Indonesia and Turkiye Agree to Expedite CEPA Negotiations

IDXChannel - Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi is committed to expedite finalisation of Indonesia-Turkiye Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA). The fifth round negotiation is set to take place this year. 

"We do believe that finalisation of CEPA will be a game changer and increase our bilateral trade and investment," Retno said after her visit to Turkiye, Wednesday (1/5/2024).

On defence cooperation, the two countries agreed to hold talks between foreign and defence ministers. They also agreed to continue ongoing discussions between military and defence officials. 

"We also welcome the strategic cooperation on development of defence industry," Retno stated.

"We did a joint production on Medium Weight Tank (MWT) and commited to work together for joint marketing," she added.
