IDXChannel - Trade and investment ties between Indonesia and Vietnam continue to rise. Both countries are major contributors to the Southeast Asian economy.
"The collaboration between governments, business communities, and the people of Indonesia and Vietnam is key to achieving the economic cooperation targets for 2025 and supporting both nations' aspirations to become developed countries by 2045," Indonesian Consul General Agustaviano Sofjan said in a media release, Wednesday (8/1/2025).
The Indonesian Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City held a business meeting themed End of Year 2024 Insight & 2025 Outlook on Indonesia and Vietnam’s Economic Performance: Seizing Opportunities in a Changing World last week.
The business meeting, attended by approximately 70 participants comprising Indonesian and Vietnamese businesspeople, business associations, and local government representatives, reflects the Indonesian Consulate General's efforts to strengthen networks and collaboration with stakeholders in its jurisdiction.
By 2024, the total trade between the two countries surpassed USD15 billion. The target of USD18 billion by 2028 is optimistically expected to be achieved earlier.
