IDXChannel - The Indonesian Embassy in Abu Dhabi held a diplomatic reception on 31 October 2023.

Abdullah bin Sultan bin Awad Al Nuaimi, Minister of Justice of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) was present as the guest of honor at the event. 

There were approximately 400 invited guests from the diplomatic corps, UAE government officials, business people, and representatives of the Indonesian Society were also present to enliven the activity.

"This Diplomatic Reception was not only used to introduce the culture and culinary specialties of Indonesia but also to inform on the development of bilateral relations and cooperation between Indonesia and the UAE in various fields. In addition, we also strive to promote Indonesia to foreign invited guests both in terms of tourism destinations, trade and investment opportunities, including inviting the UAE to invest more in the new Capital City of Nusantara (IKN)," said Indonesian Ambassador Husin Bagis in a media release on Tuesday (31/10/2023).  

"Hopefully Emiratis and foreign residents living in the UAE will be more interested in Indonesia," he added.

In his remarks, the Indonesian Ambassador explained the very close relationship between the two countries.

The Indonesian Ambassador also outlined the close economic relations between the two countries, also supported by the existence of the Indonesia-UAE CEPA and the establishment of the Indonesia Investment Authority (INA). 

Not only that, the Indonesian Ambassador also expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the Government of the UAE for various supports to Indonesia including the provision of assistance for the Construction of the Indonesian Embassy Building in Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Zayed Mosque in Solo, Solo Islamic Center, Tuberculosis (TB) program assistance, plans for the Construction of a Cardiology Hospital in Solo and the Construction of the MBZ School for Future Studies (SFS) Building with Nahdlatul Ulama University (UNU)

The diplomatic reception activity was part of a series of activities to commemorate the 78th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia. Not only aimed at improving and strengthening the network between Indonesia and the UAE, the activity is also used to promote and improve Indonesia's image to the people and foreign public in the UAE.
