IDXChannel - Australia’s Deakin University and UK’s Lancaster University will open their first joint foreign campus in Bandung, West Java. This will also be the first Australia-UK joint campus overseas.
“Education is the bedrock of our people-to-people relationship. Australia and Indonesia share a long history of cooperation in many sectors, including education," said Acting Australian Deputy Ambassador to Indonesia Tim Stapleton in a media release, Friday (8/3/2024).
"We are proud to support this initiative to provide world-class Australian education in Indonesia and strengthen our partnership.," Stapleton added.
The Australian diplomat attended the launch of the Deakin University Lancaster University Partnership in Bandung on 7 March. The launch marks a significant milestone for both universities’ commitment to expand their presence in Indonesia and globally.
“This innovative approach of establishing a joint campus in Bandung with UK’s Lancaster University will bring great benefits to West Java and Indonesia, including contributing to economic and human capital development," Stapleton explained.
