IDXChannel - The Indonesian Consulate General in Jeddah, in collaboration with the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, successfully held a tourism sales missionevent this week.
"Saudi Arabia continues to be a potential partner for promoting Indonesia's priority tourist destinations," said Indonesian Consul General in Jeddah Yusron B Ambary in a media release on Friday (2/8/2024).
The ministry brought along companies from Indonesia in the travel and tourism sector such as Panorama Destination, Taman Safari Indonesia, Tria Uma, and Season Travel. No fewer than 40 companies and travel agencies from Saudi Arabia participated as buyers in the event.
"Despite significant progress, there is still much room for improvement in the tourism cooperation between the two countries," said Yusron.
According to Cecep Rukendi, the ministry's Director of Regional Tourism Marketing II, the number of Saudi Arabian tourists visiting Indonesia has shown a positive trend, although it has not yet returned to pre-Covid-19 numbers.
Therefore, he added, the promotion of Indonesia's priority tourist destinations needs to be continually enhanced.
During the event, the participating Indonesian companies engaged in table top discussions with potential buyers to explore various new cooperation opportunities. (Wahyu Dwi Anggoro)
