IDXChannel - Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono met with United States (US) Secretary of State Marco Rubioin Washington on Wednesday (16/4/2025).
Secretary Rubio and Foreign Minister Sugiono discussed US reciprocal tariffs on Indonesia," the US Department of State said in a statement.
"The Secretary welcomed Indonesia’s efforts to introduce economic reforms toward a fair and balanced trade relationship," it said.
During the meeting, Rubio and Sugiono underscored the importance the US-Indonesia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. They agreed to advance cooperation between the two countries.
"They discussed ways to deepen defense and security cooperation, including efforts to uphold freedom of navigation and overflight in the South China Sea in accordance with international law," the department said.
