In the tourism sector, based on data from BPS until September 2023, the number of tourists from China visiting Indonesia reached 556,535 tourists. This has exceeded the target set for 2023 of 365,000 Chinese tourists, making Chinese tourists the fourth-highest in terms of the number of foreign tourists visiting Indonesia after Malaysia, Australia, and Singapore.
Meanwhile, in the field of trade and investment, China is Indonesia's largest trading partner. In January-September 2023, based on China Customs data, the total trade value between the two countries reached USD103.21 billion. Meanwhile, Chinese investment in Indonesia during the same period, according to the Ministry of Investment of Indonesia/BKPM release, reached USD5.6 billion. (WHY)
