Indonesia's Annual Inflation Slows to 3.52 Percent in June 2023

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) announced today that Indonesia's annual inflation in June 2023 reached 3.52%.

IDXChannel - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) announced today that Indonesia's annual inflation in June 2023 reached 3.52%.  Meanwhile, the June 2023 monthly inflation reached 0.14% compared to the previous month.

"The June 2023 monthly inflation rate was higher than the previous month but lower than the same month last year," said BPS Deputy for Distribution and Services Statistics Pudji Ismartini in a media release in on Monday (3/7/2023).

In addition, core inflation was recorded at 0.12% month-to-month in June 2023.

"The biggest contributors to inflation on a mtm basis included chicken meat, air fares and eggs," the BPS official added.

Last month, a total of 78 cities experienced inflation, while 12 cities experienced deflation.

"The highest inflation occurred in the city of Jayapura at 1.36%," Pudji explained.

"The highest annual inflation occurred in Ambon at 6.10% with a CPI of 118.67 and the lowest occurred in Gunungsitoli at 1.01% with a CPI of 114.79," Pudji concluded. (WHY)
