PLN and Siemens Cooperate to Develop Clean Energy

PT PLN (Persero) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Siemens Energy.

IDXChannel - PT PLN (Persero) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Siemens Energy. This collaboration was established in order to accelerate clean energy transition in Indonesia.

President Director of PLN Darmawan Prasodjo said the two parties would work together to make Indonesia's energy transition successful. 

"We appreciate Siemens Energy as a global company that will bring its newest technology to this green energy and decarbonization program,” Darmawan said on Tuesday (18/4/2023).

“This collaboration is in line with the Indonesian Government's commitment to reducing carbon emissions while supporting economic growth," he added.

PLN Director of Business Planning and Development Hartanto Wibowo said that this collaboration would help improve the capacity of PLN employees so that they could develop sustainable energy technologies. This is an important step for PLN in reducing dependence on fossil energy.

"The development of sustainable energy technologies is a big step taken by PLN to increase domestic energy security," said Hartanto.

Hartanto explained, after the launch of the Energy Transition Mechanism (ETM) at the G20 Summit, the Government of Indonesia made various efforts to develop a fair and affordable energy sector.

The main goal is to achieve the net zero emission target in 2060.

"Hopefully this collaboration will run smoothly and provide benefits for all parties. We are moving forward together to create a better future," concluded Hartanto. (WHY)
