Indonesia and Brunei Discuss Latest Developments in Palestine

IDXChannel - Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi welcomedc the visit of Foreign Minister Dato Erywan of Brunei Darussalam in Jakarta on Tuesday (6/8/2024).

They discussed cooperation in the areas of connectivity, skilled labor. and Brunei Darussalam-Indonesia-Malaysia-Philippines East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA). 

"Cooperation within ASEAN and the situation in Palestine were also discussed," Retno said on her X account.

After their bilateral meeting, the two foreign ministers signed a logo commemorating the 40 years of Indonesia-Brunei Darussalam diplomatic relations

"Look forward to continue strengthening our longstanding bilateral relations," Retno said.

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) will hold an open-ended extraordinary meeting of the Executive Committee at the OIC Secretariat in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Wednesday.

OIC foreign ministers will discuss the continued crimes of the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people, including the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, Chairman of the Hamas Political Bureau and former Palestinian prime minister, and its aggressions against the sovereignty of Iran.
