Indonesia Condemns Raid on Al Aqsa Mosque by Israeli Settlers

Indonesia has strongly condemned the raid on the Al Aqsa Mosque by hundreds of Israeli settlers during the Flag March celebration.

"This action is provocative and hurts the feelings of Muslims worldwide," the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated on X, Friday (7/6/2024).

"All violations and violence committed by Israel, including in Gaza, must be immediately stopped," it stated.

Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi recently reiterated the importance to step-up efforts to support Palestine including by promoting the implementation of two-state solution and Palestine's full membership in the United Nations (UN.

"We closely monitor the development in Gaza including the recent ceasefire proposal," she said after holding a bilateral meeting with Rwandan Foreign Minister Vincent Biruta in Jakarta on Thursday.

"We hope that permanent peace can be restored and humanitarian aid can be delivered unhampered," she added. (WHY)
