Indonesian Embassy Holds Indonesia-Japan Friendship Day
The Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo held the Indonesia-Japan Friendship Day (IJFD) program in Ishikawa Prefecture on 22-24 March.

"The Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo stands ready to provide protection and services for Indonesian citizens in Japan, including in disaster-affected areas," stated Indonesian Ambassador to Japan Heri Akhmadi in a media release on Monday (25/3/2024).
As part of the program, the embassy provided consular and other services for Indonesian citizens in Ishikawa on Sunday. The services provided to Indonesian citizens aim to ensure that those affected by the earthquake in the Ishikawa area, including Noto Peninsula and its surroundings, receive adequate consular services. A total of 186 Indonesian citizens, mostly Seafarers (ABK), received passport services, seafarer books, as well as consular and customs consultations.
"Specifically to my seafarers friends, I advise you to understand the existing legal rights and obligations, examine and understand the contract well, obey the laws in Japan, work hard, diligently, and adapt well, and don't forget to report (lapor diri) to the Embassy," Ambassador Heri advised during his visit to Ishikawa.
In a meeting with Indonesian seafarers in the Ishikawa Prefecture Fisheries Co-operative Association on Saturday, Indonesian Embassy also conducted briefings to update the seafareres on the latest regulations related to customs.
As part of the IJFD series, the Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo also held other related events, including briefings on consular services and socialization of tax/customs regulations. On Friday, 21 members of the Indonesian Student Association (PPI) received education services and consultations.
During this opportunity, Ambassador Heri also held meetings with the Rector and Vice-Rector of Kanazawa University, Professor Wada Takashi and Professor Shimura Megumi to discuss opportunities for cooperation, including sending Indonesian undergraduate students through the Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA) scheme, as well as cooperation with universities in Indonesia in the field of medicine.
On Friday, Ambassador Heri also awarded the Ambassador Award to several individuals and organizations who actively contributed in supporting Indonesian citizens affected by the earthquake in Ishikawa Prefecture. The recipients of the Ambassador Award are Nengsih and Tsuchida Naoto, Hikmah Balbeid and Matsui Seiji, and Wawan Supriyanto. Ambassador Heri also awarded Toyama Muslim Center (TMC) for its role in providing logistics assistance, especially to Indonesian citizens affected by the earthquake. (WHY)
