IDXChannel - Bank Indonesia (BI) throught its Board of Governors' Meeting (RDG) on 17-18 April 2023 decided to maintain the BI 7-Day Reverse Repo Rate (BI7DRR) at 5.75 percent.
BI also held the Deposit Facility rate at 5.00 percent and the Lending Facility rate at 6.50 percent.
BI Governor Perry Warjiyo said this decision was consistent with the central bank’s forward-looking monetary policy in order to ensure the continued decline in inflation expectations.
"Bank Indonesia believes that the BI7DRR of 5.75% is sufficient to maintain core inflation to remain under control in the range of 3.0 ± 1% in 2023 and Consumer Price Index (CPI) inflation is expected to return to the target of 3.0 ± 1%," he said during a press conference in Jakarta on Tuesday (18/4/2023).
According to him, the Rupiah exchange rate stabilization policy will also continue to be strengthened in order to control imported inflation and mitigate the impacts of global financial market uncertainties.
