ASEAN Business Awards 2023 Held to Promote Innovation and Sustainability

IDXchannel - The ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN-BAC) held the 2023 ASEAN Business Awards (ABA), honoring the businesses and individuals who prioritize innovation, sustainability and inclusiveness in the ASEAN region. 

ABA 2023 succeeded in bringing more than 700 submissions, including corporations, micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), and individuals, who came from the ASEAN countries. A total of 26 best participants in 13 categories were awarded to corporations and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), as well as individuals from the region, at the 2023 ABA awarding night which was held at the Ritz-Carlton Pacific Place Hotel, Jakarta.

Indonesian Vice President Ma'ruf Amin emphasized the importance of a culture of cooperation, peace and respect for diversity as the foundation of ASEAN's strength during his keynote speech.

"The strength of ASEAN is centered on a culture of cooperation, peace and respect for the diversity of ASEAN countries," said the Vice President at the 2023 ASEAN Business Awards (ABA) Awarding Night at the Ballroom of The Ritz-Carlton Jakarta, Monday (4/9/2023) evening.

Concurrently, the Chairperson of the ASEAN-BAC 2023 who is also the Chairperson of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Arsjad Rasjid said, the business world is one of the important pillars for advancing the ASEAN economy. As Chair of the ASEAN-BAC in 2023, Indonesia is at the forefront of giving appreciation to parties who are considered to have contributed to various economic sectors.
 
"The business world must get the portion it should because it plays an important role in helping the government improve the economy and the region’s appeal," said Arsjad.
 
Arsjad said, ASEAN-BAC has consistently given appreciation to business actors who have been driving companies and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Business actors, he continued, have created positive performance, innovation, inclusion and sustainable growth in ASEAN.
 
"It is the responsibility of ASEAN-BAC to provide recognition and respect for the various achievements that have been achieved. It is a positive step taken by Indonesia to reward the performance achievements of the industry, micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), and individuals," said Arsjad.
 
Carrying the theme "Uniting Visions, Powering Growth," the 2023 ABA consists of eight award categories, covering five pillars specifically for large companies and the MSME scale. Meanwhile, another pillar is for the individual category.
