IDXChannel - The ASEAN Connectivity Coordinating Committee (ACCC) convened a virtual workshop this week. Over 110 participants from lead implementing bodies, relevant sectoral bodies, national coordinators, and various line agencies were in attendance.

The workshop fostered an open dialogue aimed to address challenges and explore solutions to enhance coordination and drive the implementation of the Master Plan on ASEAN Connectivity (MPAC) 2025 forward.

“We recognise that our people demand tangible benefits from ASEAN cooperation and integration. The MPAC, as well as other connectivity initiatives, shall aim to unleash and optimise the huge economic potentials that our region has for the maximum benefits of the people in ASEAN,"  Ambassador Derry Aman, Permanent Representative of Indonesia to ASEAN and Chair of the ACCC, said in a media release on Wednesday (4/10/2023).

“It is important that next MPAC agenda and strategy set clear, measurable, and quantitative targets in order that we can easily assess the economic and social impacts of this initiative to our community,” he added.

Participants discussed good practices on national and regional coordination, exchanged ideas to advance the implementation of MPAC 2025, and explored possible priorities for the ASEAN Connectivity Post-2025 Agenda.

The insights and suggestions gathered will be further explored in the discussion with external partners in the next meeting. (WHY)
