IDXChannel - President Joko Widodo has said that the construction of the toll road from Balikpapan to the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) in East Kalimantan will be completed by the end of 2024.
The 40 kilometer toll road will connect balikpapan to the new capital city‘s core area. The toll road will also be the first connectivity infrastructure built by the government in Nusantara.
According to the President, there have been no more obstacles to the construction of the toll road. The obstacles faced earlier regarding land acquisition have also been resolved.
The president again emphasized that land acquisition in IKN should not harm the local community.
“This toll road will be completed by the end of 2024. We hope that this will be the first infrastructure to be built in the framework of the development of the IKN,” he said.
“The most important thing that I always remind those in the field is related to the environment, because the concept of the city that we are presenting is an environmental concept, so that even the smallest things related to the environment must be considered,” he added.
