IDXChannel - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs signed two Memorandums of Understanding with the Financial Services Authority (OJK) and PT Pos Indonesia today (4/6/2024) In order to support and strengthen economic diplomacy.
"Collaboration and joint forces are key to better, more optimal work results. Cooperation like this is very necessary, especially to support economic diplomacy, which is aimed at national development," said Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi in her speech.
The signing of the MoU between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the OJK was carried out by Retno and the Chairman of the OJK Board of Commissioners, Mahendra Siregar.
Retno said that this MoU will strengthen the synergy between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and OJK, especially in terms of diplomacy in the financial sector and the protection and improvement of the role of Indonesian migrant workers (PMI) and the Indonesian Diaspora abroad.
"It is the Government's responsibility to continue to provide protection for migrant workers, including from various threats of online fraud such as remittance fraud, fraudulent investments and even money laundering," she stated.
In addition, the minister also said that the cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and OJK will be directed to increase the financial literacy and inclusion of Indonesian migrant workers, as well as facilitate them for easier access to banking.
Meanwhile, the collaboration between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with PT Pos Indonesia will strengthen connectivity and supply chains through strengthening the logistics ecosystem for Indonesian business actors abroad. This synergy is also in order to support MSMEs and SOEs Go-Global. (WHY)
