IDXChannel- The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) is finalizing masterplans for four priority tourism destinations.
The four areas are Lake Toba in North Sumatra, Borobudur-Yogyakarta-Prambanan in the Special Region of Yogyakarta/Central Java, Raja Ampat in West Papua, and Wakatobi in Southeast Sulawesi.
Overall, the development projects in the four areas will cost Rp4.8 trillion. The projects will be funded by the State Budget.
PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono said the Lake Toba Integrated Tourism Masterplan (ITMP) was completed in March 2020 and submitted to the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) in May 2020. During 2020-2023, the PUPR Ministry has developed infrastructures around the Lake Toba area worth Rp2.38 trillion.
"Hopefully the Master Plan for National Tourism Destinations (RIDPN) can be discussed at a ministerial meeting this April. We are currently requesting inputs for the final draft of the Lake Toba RIDPN," Basuki said in a written statement on Monday (10/4/2023).
Furthermore, the Borobudur-Yogyakarta-Prambanan ITMP was completed in December 2020 and submitted to Bappenas in February 2021. The value of the infrastructure development around the Borobudur-Yogyakarta-Prambanan area is Rp2.29 trillion during 2020-2023.
