IDXChannel – President Joko Widodo said that as many as 66 countries are expected to become International Monetary Fund Patients due to the continuing global uncertainty.
It show the condition of the world wich very vulnerable therefore Indonesia needs to be aware of global conditions. Jokowi said that currently 14 countries have become patients from the IMF. In addition there are already 28 other countries waiting in line to become IMF patients.
Jokowi said that during the 1997-1998 fnancial crisis the world was in an uproar because there were 5 countries that became IMF patients. But this year the figure has reached 14 countries.
“I have said many times that 14 countries have entered the position of becoming IMF patients, in 1997-1998 only 5 countries were in a commotion, now 14 countries have become IMF patients. Another 28 countries are queuing at the IMF door, it is estimated that there will be 66 countries. And it’s impossible for everyone to get help, because there are limitations from the IMF and the World Bank,” Jokowi said.
