IDXChannel - The Indonesian Embassy in Athens hosted the 5th Indonesian-Hellenic Business Forum (IHBF) this month. The event promoted stronger cooperation between shipping entrepreneurs from both countries.
"Considering the advanced technology and know-how of the Greek shipping industry and its great interest in cooperating with partners from Indonesia, ship management and service collaboration is expected to be a low-hanging fruit for both countries," said the Indonesian Ambassador to Greece Bebeb AK Nugraha in a media release.
"Additionally, Indonesian ports can enhance their capacity to provide these services through investments and technology adoption alongside the Greek shipping industry," he added.
According to him, the Indonesian shipping industry, which faces cost structure challenges with around 60% of total costs being capital costs, can also initiate collaboration on ship financing/leasing sector studies in Greece to support the energy transition in the shipping sector and operational ship financing.
The 5th IHBF focused on the "Shipping Industry," coinciding with the Posidonia International Shipping Exhibition.
