IDXChannel - The new British Ambassador to Indonesia Dominic Jermey is set to make his first official visit to Yogyakarta on 16-17 November 2023 to meet the Governor Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X and discuss the ongoing collaboration on education, climate change, digitalisation, arts and cultural heritage.
During this visit, Ambassador Jermey will be handing over the digital copies of Javanese manuscripts from the British Library to the Special Province of Yogyakarta.
While in town, the Ambassador will also attend the Global Forum for Climate Movement hosted by Muhammadiyah where he will be speaking about innovation for climate resilience with other foreign dignitaries.
He is also scheduled to meet with the Chairman of Muhammadiyah, one of the largest Muslim organisations, Haedar Nashir to discuss several issues of shared interest.
Furthermore, Ambassador Jermey will deliver speech at the University of Gadjah Mada on UK-Indonesia bilateral relations on education, politics, climate change, digital, arts and culture.
