IDXChannel - The Indonesian Embassy in Damascus participated in the International Charity Bazaar organised by the Diplomatic Club of Syria (DCOS) and the Syrian Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor last weekend.

The event took place at Dama Rose Hotel's Hall Al Mutanabbi.

The Indonesian booth, themed "House of Indonesia," became one of the focal points for visitors, including diplomats, Syrian officials, entrepreneurs, and the general public. The Indonesian Ambassador to Syria, Wajid Fauzi, stated that Indonesia's participation in the bazaar is a manifestation of the friendship between Indonesia and Syria.

"The bazaar is expected to serve as a promotional platform for Indonesian products in Syria to attract more Syrian entrepreneurs to establish trade relations with Indonesia," he said in a media relase, Monday (18/12/2023).

Indonesia participated alongside 15 other foreign representatives in Syria, each presenting various products unique to their respective countries. The House of Indonesia showcased a variety of typical products, ranging from foods such as Nasi Padang, Siomay, and Mie Goreng to various snacks. Indonesian spices and handicrafts, such as woven clothing, batik scarves, border tablecloths, pearl accessories, and wood carvings, were also significant attractions.

The Indonesian booth drew enthusiasm from bazaar visitors, including members of the diplomatic corps, Syrian officials, entrepreneurs, and the general public. In the bazaar, the Indonesian Embassy collaborated with the Indonesian Student Association in Syria (PPI Suriah) to provide Indonesian products. PPI Suriah's participation is a form of entrepreneurship development for Indonesian students in Syria.
