IDXChannel - Indonesia is ready to cooperate with the United States (US) in order to realize Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto's programs and priorities.
"Indonesia and the US are strategic partners in advancing democracy, creating peace, and promoting prosperity," Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono during a discussion in Jakarta on Friday (13/12/2024).
"Indonesia is ready to strengthen cooperation between the two countries, especially for Asta Cita programs, including in the fields of investment, food and energy security, health transformation, and education," he added.
The event was held to celebrate 75 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries. US Ambassador to Indonesia Kamala Lakhdhir also attended the forum.
"Our partnership is based on shared values," she said.
Diplomatic relations between Indonesia and the US began in December 1949, marked by the submission of Letters of Credence from the first US Ambassador to Indonesia, Horace Merle Cochran, to President Soekarno in Jakarta.
