IDXChannel - Indonesia has urged countries to start taking concrete steps to stop the violence in Gaza.
These concrete steps include halting arms shipments to Israel, effectively implementing UN Security Council Resolutions and International Court of Justice decisions, and improving humanitarian conditions in Gaza through international aid.
"The double standards being displayed in Gaza is unravelling the multilateral system," Indonesian Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Arrmanatha Nasir said during the Emergency Special Session of the UN General Assembly this week.
Nasir emphasized that since October 2023, the Gaza conflict has claimed more than 44 thousand lives, the majority of whom are women and children.
"If actions equivalent to wiping out the whole population of a country is not genocide, please tell me, what is?" Nasir said, calling for the world's attention to this humanitarian crisis.
