IDXChannel - Indonesia strongly condemned Israel’s renewed attacks on Palestine's Gaza Strip. Tuesday's attacks killed at least 400 people, including children.
"These attacks add up to a series of Israeli’s continued provocations that threaten the ceasefire and undermine prospects for a peaceful negotiation toward a Two-State Solution," the Indonesian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
Indonesia urged the international community to take immediate action to halt Israel’s attacks. The country also called on all parties to restore the ceasefire to prevent further civilian casualties.
"Indonesia reaffirms its consistent position that ending Israel's illegal occupation is the only path to achieving a just and lasting peace in the region," the ministry stated.
Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono received Palestinian Special Envoy Mahmoud El Habbash in Jakarta earlier this week. During the meeting, the minister reaffirmed Indonesia's commitmment to Palestine.
