IDXChannel - Indonesia will contribute to reconstruction efforts in Gaza through the planned construction of the Indonesian Mother and Child Hospital.
According to the agreed Detailed Engineering Design (DED), the Indonesian Mother and Child Hospital will be a four-story building, including a basement, with a total floor area of 10,310 square meters.
The estimated cost for the project is approximately Rp402 billion.
"This event is part of the follow-up to the launch of the National Campaign 'Indonesia for Palestine' on 26 February 2025, which was officially inaugurated by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Anis Matta, in collaboration with the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), the National Amil Zakat Agency (Baznas), and more than 30 Indonesian charitable and humanitarian organizations," said Director of the Middle East Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ahrul Tsani Fathurrahman, in a press conference on Friday (14/3/2025).
Ahrul Tsani expressed appreciation for the initiative taken by the Aqsa Working Group (AWG) and Maemunah Centre in spearheading the RSIA Indonesia project in Gaza City and for their coordination with the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
He expressed hope that, through collaboration between the Government and various humanitarian organizations, more initiatives from Indonesia would emerge to contribute to the reconstruction process in Gaza, in addition to those initiated by AWG, Maemunah Centre, Mer-C, Baznas, and others.
