IDXChannel - Zainudin Amali has decided to focus on managing the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI). He recently submitted his resignation as Minister of Youth and Sports.
The decision was conveyed directly to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) this morning. During the meeting, the Head of State approved the resignation of the minister.
"This morning we met. I submitted a written letter and he approved it," said Zainudin during a visit to Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium (GBT) in Surabaya on Monday (13/3/2023).
According to Zainudin, now he can focus on being PSSI Deputy Chairperson. He is committed to fulfilling his tasks and duties as PSSI vice chairman.
“I have been allowed to step down as of today. So I hope there are no more questions about that," he said.
Zainudin added the president asked him to be able to remain in the world of sports. He will develop the association together with PSSI Chairman and State-Owned Enterprises (SOES) Minister Erick Thohir.
According to him, there are many challenges that need to be tackled to be able to bring Indonesian football to a higher level in the future.
