IDXChannel - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has encouraged the House of Representatives (DPR) to immediately pass the Asset Forfeiture Bill. Jokowi said the bill was an initiative of the government.
"The Asset Forfeiture Bill is indeed an initiative of the government and we continue to push for it to be finalized by the DPR. And the process is already underway," Jokowi said at Pasar Johar Baru, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (5/4/2023).
Jokowi hopes that the passage of the Asset Forfeiture Bill will make it easier to eradicate corruption in the country.
"We hope that it can support efforts to tackle criminal acts of corruption," he explained.
For information, Chairman of the Commission III of the DPR Bambang Wuryanto, recently responded to the request of Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD regarding the bill. Mahfud asked the DPR through Bambang Wuryanto to support the ratification of the bill.
