IDXChannel - The Board of Governors' Meeting (RDG) of Bank Indonesia (BI) on 15-16 March 2023 decided to maintain the BI 7-Day Reverse Repo Rate (BI7DRR) at 5.75 percent.
BI also decided to maintain its Deposit Facility rate at 5.00 percent and Lending Facility rate at 6.50 percent.
BI Governor Perry Warjiyo said, the decision was consistent with BI’s pre-emptive and forward looking monetary policy stance to ensure the continued decline in inflation expectations and future inflation.
"Bank Indonesia believes that the BI7DRR of 5.75% is sufficient to ensure core inflation remains within the 3.0 ± 1% range in the first semester of 2023 and the Consumer Price Index (CPI) inflation returns to the target of 3.0 ± 1% in the first semester.of 2023," he said in Jakarta on Thursday (16/3/2022).
The Rupiah exchange rate stabilization policy was also continuously strengthened in order to control imported inflation and mitigate the impacts of global financial market uncertainties.
