IDXChannel - The Indonesian Quarantine Authority and New Zealand's Ministry for Primary Industries have signed a memorandum of arrangement (MoA) aimed at enhancing cooperation on sanitary and phytosanitary (SPS) measures and certification matters.

The signing ceremony took place in Auckland this week, and was attended by Sahat Manaor Panggabean, Head of the Indonesian Quarantine Authority, and Todd McClay, Minister for Primary Industries of New Zealand.

"By harmonizing our sanitary and phytosanitary measures and implementing e-certification, we are not only facilitating trade but also ensuring the safety and quality of agricultural products exchanged between our nations," Sahat said in a media release on Thursday (11/9/2024).

According to Sahat, this cooperation underscores the commitment of both nations to strengthen bilateral trade relations through streamlined agricultural trade protocols.

The MoA, hea added, is set to pave the way for increased trade volumes and economic cooperation between Indonesia and New Zealand, benefiting farmers, exporters, and consumers in the two countries.
